This policy explains what information Grounds Truth Coffee Co. ("Grounds Truth," "we," "us") collects when you visit groundstruthcoffee.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and to improve the site. If we launch an email newsletter, we will collect your email address only when you sign up, and every email will include a way to unsubscribe.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information: IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. We may also use a privacy-focused analytics service to count visits and see which guides are useful. We use this information in aggregate and don't use it to identify you personally.

Tools on the site

The brewer finder and ratio calculator run entirely in your browser. Your answers aren't sent to us. The gear picks section may remember the last category you viewed using your browser's local storage. That setting stays on your device and you can clear it at any time.

Cookies

Grounds Truth itself does not set advertising cookies. However, when you click an affiliate link and arrive at a retailer's site, such as Amazon, that retailer may set cookies to record that you came from us. That's how they credit a purchase to our site. Those cookies are controlled by the retailer and covered by their privacy policy, not this one. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Affiliate disclosure

Grounds Truth is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

We also take part in affiliate programs run by other retailers and coffee subscription services. When you buy a product or start a subscription through one of our links, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and your price is the same as it would be without our link.

Affiliate relationships never determine our recommendations. We don't accept payment for placement or free products in exchange for coverage. Links that earn us a commission are marked as sponsored in the page code, and every page with affiliate links carries a notice near the top.

Product prices and availability shown on this site are approximate and may change. The price and availability shown on the retailer's site at the time of purchase apply.

Shop purchases

Merch orders are placed and paid for on our print partner's checkout, and gear purchases on the retailer's site. Those companies collect the name, address and payment details needed to fulfill your order under their own privacy policies. Grounds Truth doesn't receive or store your card details.

How we share information

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, such as web hosting, analytics and email, and only as needed for them to provide that service. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Children's privacy

Grounds Truth is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has contacted us, email us and we will delete the information.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing us at the address on our contact page. Depending on where you live, such as California or the European Union, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor those requests.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the homepage for 30 days.
